Some highlights:
  • In Brazil, the team had hoped to reach 500 women in call centres.  After one year of the campaign, they reached 2,209 in call centres, and also far exceed their targets among cashiers and industry workers.
  • In South Africa, a total of 5,000 young women were reached, half of whom are from the service sector, including women who are already trade union members (1,000) and women who are non-unionised or unemployed (1,500). One of the most prominent partners in South Africa, SACCAWU, had set as a target to reach 300 young women workers, the majority of whom will be the core of the trade union’s future leaders. After one year, the team managed to reach 666 women.
  • In India, 3,500 young women who work in banks, call centers and as IT specialists were reached through survey questionnaires and brochures dissemination.
  • In Zimbabwe, the turnout of participants at the 8 March manifestations was impressive, with 618 young women out of a total of 2,159 participants.
